Private Health Fund Rebates

Individuals with private health insurance extras cover may be entitled to a rebate for most dietetic services. Rebates vary according to the health fund and your level of cover. If you are in doubt about whether you can obtain a rebate, please contact your health fund directly. You do not usually need a referral to see a dietitian (check with your health fund), but a referral from your GP or specialist is preferred if you have complex dietary needs. Nutrition Professionals Australia also has the facility for electronic processing of health fund claims on the spot (HICAPS) at all the Sydney locations plus the main office in Adelaide.

Medicare consultation in NPA rooms

For eligible patients referred by their GP only. You may be eligible for up to 5 visits per year if your GP has prepared a Team Care Plan as part of the management of your chronic condition.

Bulk billing clinics are available at some Adelaide locations.

Bulk billing clinics do not apply in the Sydney locations. Full payment is required at the time of your appointment and Medicare will reimburse you upon presentation of your receipt.

Veterans Affairs

Veterans holding a DVA Gold Card can be seen by one of the Nutrition Professionals Australia dietitians at no cost. Please ensure that your doctor has provided you with a DVA Allied Health referral.

Work Cover

Nutrition Professionals Australia dietitian visits may be covered by Work Cover. A referral from your case manager and treating doctor is required.

Our Cancellation Policy

For individual appointments and groups, we ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice for all cancellations or rescheduling of your appointments. A cancellation fee of 100% of the fee may be charged for missed appointments or appointments which are cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice.
It is not our aim to make profits from cancellation fees, rather to make sure those appointment times are kept available for others who need them.
We do appreciate that, in some circumstances, short notice may occasionally be unavoidable, and discretion will be exercised in such cases.
